Sirendia is jacob Savishinsky and Isobel Avian.
Jacob comes loaded with an eclectic background from east coast punk to groove and hip hop, then serving the Seattle music scene for over twenty years.
Isobel too, has spent over twenty years in the Seattle music scene - previously under the name, Mary Lydia Ryan. She is most known from her singer-songwriter era, locally.
We met as we each were on the lookout for trip hop project collaborators. Shortly thereafter, we gave ourselves a trial period to see what music we could create and received the invitation to provide the full soundtrack to Seattle’s magical 2024 “Mermaids & Mythological Beings” festival that took place at the iconic Café Racer.
With the success and fun of the mermaid festival, enjoying a cohesive vision and ability to co-write, we kept going with the intent to create an entire album’s worth of material. We succeeded in creating enough music to fill one album – plus several demos and ideas for future singles and other releases.
Our vision also included printing directly to vinyl for the full artistic aesthetic both Jacob and Isobel miss from earlier decades in how music can be experienced.
Our first album, ‘Hear My Call’ is done! We are proud of the music we’ve crafted coming from different musical styles and backgrounds and learning how to work together. Our celebration of the digital release of ‘Hear My Call’ took place at Vermillion where we also initiated our vinyl pressing crowdfunding campaign. DJ Alan Pruzan completed our celebration spinning records during our dance party.
